Acceptable Use Policy

This policy explains what InfoWest internet service is for and the small set of things it can't be used for. It applies to every InfoWest internet connection, residential and business, and is part of our Terms of Service. The short version: the connection is yours to use fully, at your place, for your household or business. Don't redistribute it, don't abuse it, and don't use it to harm others.

Your connection is for your own use

Standard InfoWest plans are unmetered. There is no usage allowance, no overage billing, and no time-of-day throttling. In exchange, standard plans are engineered and priced for one thing: the traffic of the household or business at the service address, including your guests' ordinary use of your Wi-Fi.

You may not resell InfoWest service or redistribute it to people outside your household or business without a written agreement with us. Redistribution includes, for example:

• A hotel, motel, or short-term rental operation providing internet to guests as part of the room.
• A property owner or association distributing one connection across multiple dwellings or tenants.
• An internet provider or reseller purchasing bandwidth to serve its own customers.
• Extending your connection by wireless or cabling to premises other than your service address.

None of these are prohibited businesses, and we serve all of them today. They just need a service built for redistribution: a Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) circuit with bandwidth reserved for you, a service-level agreement, and pricing quoted to your actual usage. Prohibited conduct

You may not use InfoWest service to:

• Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
• Infringe copyrights or other intellectual property. Our Copyright & DMCA Policy describes how we handle infringement complaints, including our repeat-infringer process.
• Access or attempt to access systems, accounts, or data without authorization, including port scanning, credential attacks, or distributing malware.
• Launch or participate in denial-of-service attacks, or knowingly operate devices that do (including compromised machines you've been notified about).
• Send unsolicited bulk email or messages, operate an open mail relay or open DNS resolver, or forge message headers and sender identities.
• Harass, threaten, or defraud others.
• Interfere with other customers' use of the network or with InfoWest's operation of it.

Servers and hosted services

You may run servers for your own use (game servers, home automation, remote access, a personal site) on plans that support it; a static IP is available where you need one. Whatever you host must follow this policy: nothing that facilitates abuse, and nothing that turns your connection into redistribution as described above.

How we keep the network fair

We do not meter standard plans, and we do not throttle by content, application, or time of day. We monitor overall network utilization and add capacity as neighborhoods grow. In the rare case where one connection's sustained use materially degrades service for others, or shows the pattern of redistribution, we will contact you and work out the right service for what you're doing. Enforcement

When we see or receive a report of a violation, we start with a conversation: most issues are misunderstandings or compromised equipment, and we'd rather fix those with you than punish them. For ongoing or serious violations we may temporarily restrict or suspend service, and for severe cases (active attacks, illegal content) we may act immediately and without notice. Termination for cause follows the process in our Terms of Service.

Reporting abuse

To report spam, attacks, or other abuse originating from our network, contact InfoWest support at (435) 674-0165 or through our support center. Include timestamps, IP addresses, and log excerpts where you can; they make the difference between a fast fix and a slow one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the network and the law evolve. The current version always lives at this address, and material changes will be announced the same way as changes to our Terms of Service.
